Is as simple as # eclean-dist -d will clean all distfiles wihc are older than currently installed. Eclean comes from package app-portage/gentoolkit and has couple other nice options -> read man.

New version of portage adds support for licence acceptance for specific packages. sun-jdk requires now acceptance of dlj licence (in /usr/portage/licenses) If you do not want to get into more details simply add ACCEPT_LICENSE=”dlj-1.1″ to your /etc/make.conf You can also set this to ACCEPT_LICENSE=”*” but you won’t receive and error during installation of  licensed software.

After some updates my vmware refused to start with following error: Attempt to remove filter function 0xb5d98500 user data 0x83d1f80, but no such filter has been added D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace Sollution: Try reemerge hal and make sure it is started.
